How it works
Step 1
Enroll
Create your account, enter the details the state roster needs, and pay for a course or a series. You can start the same day.
Step 2
Learn at your pace
Each course is modules of short video lessons and readings. Watch and read in any order within a module; your seat time is recorded as you go.
Step 3
60 days
Your window opens the first time you open the course and runs 60 days. Need longer? Buy an extension from your dashboard.
Step 4
Quizzes and a final
A quiz closes every module, some courses have midterms, and a final exam ends the course. Each has a pass mark and a set number of attempts.
Step 5
We report to the state
When you pass, you get a certificate of completion and we report your completion to the Bureau through FireTRAQ within 20 days. The state handles the rest.
What Florida asks for
In plain words, for each certification. The Bureau publishes the rule itself; check it before you plan, and ask your training officer. We deliver the courses; the state certifies.

Questions people ask first
- Does finishing a course make me certified?
- No. We deliver the course and report your completion. Certification is the state's decision, after you meet every requirement, including the state examination.
- What is a FireTRAQ Student ID, and why do you need it?
- FireTRAQ is the Bureau's training records system. Every Florida firefighter has a student ID there, and completions are reported against it. You can enroll without it, but we need it before we can report your completion.
- How long do I have?
- 60 days from the day you first open the course. The clock does not start when you pay. If you need more time, you can buy an extension from your dashboard.
- What if I fail the final?
- Every quiz, midterm and final has a set number of attempts, shown before you start. If you use every attempt at the final without passing, the enrollment ends without a completion.
- Do I need the textbook?
- No. Where a course lists a textbook, it is optional and bought elsewhere; we show the title and ISBN so you can find it.
- Can I get a refund?
- No. Every payment is final. The one exception is a charge made in error, such as being charged twice; we refund the duplicate in full.
- Is anything in person?
- Most courses are online and self-paced. Fire Service Course Delivery (BFST1740) is blended: online work plus in-person sessions with your instructor of record, on dates your class sets and shows on your schedule. We do not offer EMS courses.
