Terms of Service

Effective 2026-11-04

Who we are

FireMettle is operated by FireMettle LLC (“FireMettle”, “we”). These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use firemettle.com. By creating an account or buying a membership you agree to them. Write to jwcb0613@gmail.com with any question.

What FireMettle is, and is not

  • FireMettle is an educational platform for people preparing for and working in the fire service.
  • It does not grant any certification, license or operational qualification, and it is not affiliated with any government agency or fire department.
  • Nothing here guarantees that you will be hired, pass a test or qualify for anything. Follow your department's policies, your authority having jurisdiction and qualified instructors.
  • Physical training carries risk. Check with a doctor before starting a training plan, and stop if something hurts.

Your account

  • Give accurate information, keep your password private, and use your account yourself. Accounts are for one person and may not be shared.
  • You must be 18 or older to buy a membership.
  • You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at jwcb0613@gmail.com if you think someone else has used it.

Membership & billing terms

  • Price. Each membership's price is shown on the site and again at checkout before you pay. You choose to pay monthly or yearly where both are offered. Prices are in US dollars, plus any sales tax that applies.
  • Automatic renewal. Your membership renews automatically at the end of each month or year, as you chose, charged to the card you gave, until you cancel. Stripe processes payments; we never see or store your card number.
  • Canceling. Cancel any time online: Settings, then Membership & billing, then Manage billing. Your membership stays open to the end of the month or year you paid for, and is not renewed after that.
  • Refunds. All payments are final and are not refunded, including for part of a month or year. Canceling stops the next charge, and the month or year you paid for stays open. The one exception is a charge made in error, such as a double charge, which we refund in full.
  • Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe tries again. Your access continues for up to 3 days past the renewal date while it does, and ends if the payment does not go through.
  • Price changes. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before any change to the price of an active membership, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
  • What you get. A membership opens the program it is for, as described on the site at the time you join; for Recruit, that is everything beyond the pages that are free with an account. We add and improve content over time; we may also retire a feature, and will not reduce what membership includes in a way that defeats its purpose.

Using FireMettle

  • Do not copy, resell, scrape or republish FireMettle's lessons, questions, tools or other content, and do not share your access.
  • Do not try to break, overload or get around the site's security, and do not use it for anything unlawful.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close a paid account for a reason other than a breach of these terms, we refund the unused part of the current month.

Your content

What you write here, such as your resume, saved answers and practice records, stays yours. You let us store and process it to run the service for you. You can ask for a copy or for deletion at any time (see our Privacy Policy).

Where FireMettle offers instant feedback on mock oral boards, it is written automatically and can be wrong. It is practice feedback, not a prediction of how any panel will score you.

Our content

FireMettle's lessons, questions, tools, text and design belong to us or our licensors. Your membership lets you use them for your own preparation.

Disclaimers and liability

FireMettle is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights the law does not let us limit.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; we will post the new version here with its effective date and tell members by email about material changes. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
